Welcome to Inside Go Daddy. I hope you’ll visit us often to read a steady stream of new articles on interesting topics like “Gearman” and “100% Unit Test Coverage.” But first, I want to explain why we’re here.
You might think Go Daddy is all about racy commercials like, “The Office”. While we do like to have fun, we’re also doing a lot of serious, innovative work. For example, most everything we do at Go Daddy is supersized. We built our SSL Certificate Authority systems in-house before we ever issued a single certificate, and now, we’re behind close to 30% of the trusted certificates on the Internet—we call it the “Massive Signing Entity” for good reason.
Our engineering teams are proud of the work we do at Go Daddy, and we think it’s time to share some of it. A number of Go Daddy “insiders” will contribute articles. These are the real experts who make Go Daddy tick, and they’ll post about topics they find relevant and interesting. Members of our InfoSec team, who won the SC Magazine 2011 Best Security Team Award, will write about, well, information security. Members of our engineering teams will share their experiences from the trenches. And to keep it fun, we’ll also try to give you an inside view into unique Go Daddy experiences like Techfest, our own technology conference.

This new site is a tremendous idea. I just wish I had enough technical knowledge to understand it all! Perhaps an occasional post translating “tech talk” into laymen’s terms might be forthcoming? Good luck with this!
